It was a wonderful tutorial! Last scene is one of the funniest thus I recommend watch over the whole footage.
This is just GREAT!!! This Training video has really helped me in understanding all aspects of the steadicam.
need training
The way these guys are posed in the opening intro, and the move at 11:53 make this an instant classic as far as I'm concerned.
what is crazy is normal people still don't have have access to this stuff after 40 years!!! a cheap steadicam with arm and post is still around $1500. This is one product I wished the Chinese would copy and bust this monopoly down and put out a system for under $200 . There is nothing magical about the steadicam as Garret himself said "it's a 19th century trick" well pretty pathetic in 2017 we still do not have access to this 19 century metal bars, metal springs and a the yoke lol
you probably don't want a Chinese arm to break and kill your 5k equipment ;)
Or a 19th Century Gadget? As Garret Brown put it. So we will finally have access to this crazy 19th century tech in the year 2045, when theater's are gone and new releases are streamed to people's houses ON DEMAND. That is the problem with your mentality, we can not make things better when 1 person has access to something and 1 million don't. This is why Patents should be abolished as they only stagnate innovation and technology as people sit back on Patents for decades and nothing ever moves forward. Where do you think Industrial Steadicam parts are made ? CHINA. Just like 90% of what you wear and use in your house. Your car has 80% parts made in China. I guess people FEAR competition and they try to hold on to their little Monopolies. In the end when you deny it someone comes up with another way and your tool becomes IGNORED.
Okay, you can get a cheap small glidecam for your DSLR or DSLM for around 100 bucks. The thrid spring arm isn't necessary anymore because cameras got so much lighter. Also, gimbals with motors and everything are getting cheaper and cheaper with sub 500$ offerings by chinese manufacturers.
Adrian Gray I have moved from glidecam to Chinese Zhiyun crane m & DJI ronin because I have personally found them easy to use as compare to stedicam provided, and both of them have excellent quality but I am quite sure that such stedicams are best for heavy cameras like Arri (not cheap stedicams). I use my a7s ii & 5d mark iii in conjunction with gimbals, and I am 100% satisfied from the end result and ergonomic use. Chinese people make products according to the customer's budget ergo it stereotyping is not a nice thing (just saying).
Well we all know China is divided in 2 parts: High quality products for top companies (Samsung, Apple, ...) and low quality/clones from aliexpress ). I was referring to the 2nd one. No offense.
vais essayer de le trouver , ca a l air barré mais vu que c est du K Dick , ca peut être bien ...
This is fantastic stuff, After the 45min mark it really gets into great stuff thats rarely covered elsewhere. Many thanks fro posting (although I think I might still look at a full harness instead of rope if I ever have to film from a car) What happened between 32 and 42 minutes?
Richard Smith The video skips about 8mins between 34:45 - 42:09 for me too. Other than that, great video.
No, it is messed up. The video plays in super fast-forward for two seconds, the burn-in timecode on the video goes from 34 minutes to 42 minutes, while the UA-cam timer continues at real time speed between 34:54 and 34:56.
Hi! Any idea where I might find the missing section? Ironically, it's the socket block adjustments I can't seem to figure out! Thanks.
Pretty crazy... 26 years and this material is still valid and current!
+Kamil Kielan Agreed. Watching it now and it is still as actuall as any new instructions
Since earth did not change, psyhics are the same, geometry is the same. Theres nothing got to be changed since thse 26 years.... Its like bikes. You still got to pedal it and balance weight.
very nice
Very nice image and acting is great, congrats !! I wonder if this was recorded in raw with ML or with pushed bitrate.
eduugr with high bitrate.. thank you for your comment!
